Correspondence, memos, newsletters, drafts, outlines, scrapbooks and tables for a proposed third volume of Pure Oil Company history. Two limited editions had been published and this third was to cover the full fifty year history. Chapters discuss the development of various divisions of the company such as production, transportation, refining and subsidiaries. Contributions of company presidents are well documented. Plans to publish the history were cancelled when the merger occurred.
